Summer Sun and Fun

Whether you're a sun worshipper, a nature buff or a shop-aholic Wasaga Beach has what you want. There are hundreds of choices for things to do. Here are just a few suggestions.

On The Water

The Beach
Wasaga Beach is the longest freshwater beach in the world. This white sand beach is Ontario's premier tourist destination. You can find an active populated area of the beach with shops restaurants and an abundance of activity and entertainment or if you prefer, you can travel to the provincial park for a quieter and less crowded beach. At Nottawasaga Bay you can wade out quite a distance in the shallow water and sandbars.

Wasaga Waterworld Beachfront Location
A waterpark located right on the waterfront with high speed water slides and an 18 hole mini-putt.

Beach Events
There are different events being held weekly. Kite Fest, volleyball championships, jazz festivals and fireworks are just a few of the events that you may wish to take in.

Fishing and Canoeing
The Georgian Bay and the Nottawasaga River are an angler's paradise, with a bountiful supply of many different species of fish. The river also offers excellent canoeing, with a one-day outing taking you past the steep cliffs of Wasaga's inland sand dunes. From the mouth of the Nottawasaga, the whole of the Upper Great Lakes is yours to explore. The Georgian Triangle Trout Derby is held annually each April, and the Wasaga Fish & Game Club hosts its annual Rainbow Trout Derby in October.
