Hiking and Cycling

Blueberry Plains Trails
26 Kilometers of trails are located in the 500 hectare Dunes area of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. The combination of raised beach ridges and swales, various sand dune features and rare plant life make this area unique in Ontario.

Ganaraska Hiking Trail
17 kms of hiking trails through low beach and sand dunes, ideal for the beginner to the intermediate. These trails are part of the 450-kilometre-long trail from Port Hope to Midland.

National Parks
There are five national parks in the area. Nature lovers and photographers will appreciate the diverse landscape, wildlife and foliage.

Scenic Caves Nature Reserve
Travel 15 minutes to Collingwood to hike up to the Scenic Caves Nature Reserve. Open from May to late October.

Bike Trails
There is a good variety of bike trails to choose from no matter what your skill level. Some favorite routes are along the scenic shoreline and through the Blueberry Plains Trails. Pick up a trail map at the Town office.

On The Water

Fishing and Canoeing
The Georgian Bay and the Nottawasaga River are an angler's paradise, with a bountiful supply of many different species of fish. The river also offers excellent canoeing, with a one-day outing taking you past the steep cliffs of Wasaga's inland sand dunes. From the mouth of the Nottawasaga, the whole of the Upper Great Lakes is yours to explore. The Georgian Triangle Trout Derby is held annually each April, and the Wasaga Fish & Game Club hosts its annual Rainbow Trout Derby in October.
